Sainsbury’s has slashed prices across its wine division in advance of Mother’s Day, with its champagne brands seeing the biggest cuts, TheDrinksBusiness.com reports.
The chain has discounted Mumm Cordon Rouge Brut Champagne (£35 to £20), and Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne (down from £45 to £33).
It has also reduced the prices of the brands Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut, Jacquart Brut Mosaique (and Brut Rosé), and Laurent Perrier Brut Champagne. All brands listed are non-vintage.
The price reductions are effective from 24 February to 15 March, with Mother’s Day falling on Sunday 6 March.
The majority of price cuts are worth between £1 and £2.50.
