Sarajevo-based brewery Sarajevska Pivara has started production of best-selling German beer Oettinger for distribution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania.
According to the general director of Sarajevska Pivara, Haris Kuskunovic, the contract with Oettinger comes after significant financial investments in the latest equipment and employee training, as well as the implementation of the most modern processes, procedures and standards.
Initially, Sarajevska Pivara will produce Pils, a German Pilsener-style beer, but there are plans to introduce other Oettinger products in the long term.
The Oettinger brewery group is one of the largest in Germany and has been a market leader since 2004, and now sells its beer in more than 100 countries.
Sarajevska Pivara was founded in 1864 and is the leading producer of beer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which it makes alongside carbonated and non-carbonated water, soft drinks and juices. The brewery works with all major supermarket chains in the country (Bingo, Amko, Konzum) and more than 1,000 small shops and over 500 restaurants.
