The Spanish Federation of Food and Drink Industries (FIAB) announced an increase in employment of 3.4% in the two sectors in 2016.
During the Madrid Food&Drink Summit on Friday, FIAB president Mané Calvo said 10,000 new jobs had been created in the past year.
This was the summit's fourth edition and focused on the role of the digital economy within a global society, and showcased several success stories from within and outside the industry.
"It's fair to highlight the effort of the 30,000 companies that comprise the sector as well as the many strategies developed by organisations, one of them FIAB, in collaboration with the Spanish government, promoting common goals within and outside Spain", said Mané.
