Portuguese brewery Super Bock has launched a new line of aged beers produced using time-honoured beer aging methods.
The limited edition range includes beers produced using a careful selection of malts, hops and yeasts.
Super Bock Selecção 1927 Barrel Aged Premium Lager is the first beer to be released under this special edition.
After five months of aging in French oak and American oak barrels, the end result is described as having a 'bright copper colour, announcing vanilla notes and a rich woody profile in balance with the smooth malty flavour'.
The Super Bock Selecção 1927 range is developed in small batches at Super Bock - Casa da Cerveja, a small independent production unit, which produces three other beers (Munich Dunkel, Bavaria Weiss and Bengal Amber IPA).
Super Bock Selecção 1927 Barrel Aged Premium Lager is available in 75cL bottles between now and the end of the year.
