Tesco has announced that it will carry Pimm’s frozen alcoholic POPS in almost 700 stores across the UK.
The company has collaborated with POPS, a British company that makes alcoholic popsicles using natural ingredients and are the creators of the world's first champagne popsicle. POPS also recently released a Frosé - frozen rosé - ice popsicle in collaboration with Waitrose.
"Guilt-free treat"
The ice lollies contain 32 calories and have an ABV of 4.3% per popsicle. According to a press release from the company, the demand for ice lollies containing alcohol has increased by 10% in the UK in the last year.
“These refreshing ice lollies are a guilt-free treat and represent a glass of Pimm’s in frozen form. With the present heatwave showing no end, we think this great-tasting ice lolly is set to be a hit at BBQs for the rest of the summer,” said Tesco ice cream buyer Sonia Morland.
Tesco earlier this year began carrying Halo Top, a health-conscious ice cream brand. Launched five years ago, the Halo Top brand is one of the top sellers in America due to its relatively low calorie content. Ice creams from the range contain between 280-360 calories per pint.
