Statistics published by the Spanish website Fyh.es show that Andalusia is the most fruitful region in Spain in terms of FMCG exportation.
Its exports between January and November 2014 reached the figure of €7,558 million, of which €3,400 million was made up of fresh produce trading. This is a ten-per-cent increase on 2013, when the final figure stood at €6,912 million.
In terms of weight, this is over six million tonnes of Andalusia goods. Catalonia, by contrast, exported 5.3 million tonnes, and Valencia 4.6 million.
Germany remains the most important trading partner for Spanish FMCG exportation, purchasing 18 per cent of the share during the 11-month period in question. 3,295 Andalusian companies sold food and beverages to foreign countries during this time.
