French vegetable producer Bonduelle has opened the doors of two of its factories to the public, to encourage the consumption of fresh produce, with particular emphasis on persuading young people to eat healthy.
The event is entitled 'J’ai 9 Ans et J’aime Manger des Légumes' ('I Am 9 Years Old and I Love to Eat Vegetables'). The tours that the food group has organised to take place at its factories in Bordères and Labenne will include educational presentations for children about the role that fruit and vegetables play in a balanced diet.
The presentations are given and organised by the staff at each Bonduelle site.
The company is also providing food education in schools across the south-west of France. This offers a window into careers in the food industry, involving canning and processing peas and other produce, for which Bonduelle is well known.
