Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest vertically integrated meat supplier, has reported a 28% increase in pork volume sales in February, compared to the same period last year.
Pork sales were also up 18% on a month-on-month basis, compared to January 2019.
Chicken sales at the business were up 6% in February, year on year (down 9% month on month).
Turkey sales were down 10% on a year-on-year basis, however, they rose marginally (+2%), compared to the previous month.
The company has seen significant fluctuations in price over the past year: turkey prices are some 50% higher than the same period in the previous year, while chicken prices rose by 30%, and pork prices were 8% higher.
