Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group has reported a 5% growth in chicken sales volumes, to 695,100 tonnes, in its financial year 2020.
The average price of chicken increased by 2% to RUB107.7 per kilogram.
Turkey sales increased by 4% to 41,000 tonnes during the financial year, from 39,400 tonnes last year.
The average price of turkey increased by 3% to RUB174.0 per kilogram from RUB169.2 per kilogram.
The meat producer also reported 7% growth in pork sales to 292,800 tonnes in the period, with a 2% increase in average price to RUB90.6 per kilogram.
The company’s meat processing division saw volumes up 6% to 260,300 tonnes, with a 1% growth in average price to RUB164.7 per kilogram from RUB163.
Samson food products saw volumes up 37% to 31,080 tonnes from 22,670 tonnes in the full financial year.
Fourth Quarter Performance
Cherkizovo Group saw sales volumes of 176,200 tonnes in the fourth quarter, in line with the fourth-quarter results in 2019 and the previous quarter.
The average sales price increased by 4% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter.
JV Tambov Turkey reported a 1% year-on-year growth in sales volumes to 11,300 tonnes.
Pork sales declined by 5% year-on-year to 75,830 tonnes during the quarter.
The meat processing division saw sales volumes up by 5% year-on-year, driven by the broadened distribution of sausage products.
Average sales prices increased by 7% year-on-year, mainly due to the higher prices of sausages and carcasses, the company added.
