Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group has posted a 14% year-on-year growth in chicken sales volumes, to 56,840 tonnes, for the month of January.
The average price of chicken declined by 5% to RUB102.77 (€1.49) per kilogram.
Sales volumes of turkey grew by 26% year-on-year during this period, to 3,110 tonnes, while the average price per kilogram declined by 5% to RUB172.16 (€2.49).
The sales and production volume of pork increased by 38% in January, while the average price per kilogram dropped 15% to RUB75.96 (€1.10).
Divisional Performance
The company's meat processing unit reported a 6% growth in volume to 18,160 tonnes, driven primarily by a 29% jump in its carcass division.
The meat producer's associate company, Samson – Food Products reported a 14% growth in sales volumes to 1,890 tonnes compared with January 2019.
However, the average price per kilogram declined 4% to RUB195.20 (€2.82), from RUB202.62 (€2.93) a year ago.
