To meet increasing demand for its own-label dairy products, Coop-owned Grådö Dairy has recruited 13 new dairy farms in Dalarna, Västmanland and Uppland, meaning that 39 dairy farms will supply the Swedish retailer from January 2014.
The farms will deliver about 13 million kilograms of raw milk, with the agreements set to last for five years.
Grådö Dairy also produce sour cream, yoghurt and crème fraiche for the retailer. Three new Grådö Dairy products will be added to Coop's portfolio next week, with the launch of Coop standard milk 1.5L, Coop sour cream 3 dl and 5 dl and Coop sour cream 34% 2 dl and 5 dl in-store.
