Meat producer Danish Crown has set out climate goals to further its vision of achieving climate-neutral status by 2050, reports just-food.com.
By 2030, the Denmark-based meat cooperative will cut greenhouse emissions by at least 50% when compared with 2005, for every kilogram of pork, it said.
Cross-Organisational Projects
The cooperative will also set up cross-organisational projects that focus on energy, water consumption, and packaging.
It also intends to find innovative sustainable solutions by fostering partnerships with researchers and other companies in the industry.
Chief executive, Jais Valeur, added that the meat producer will launch an initiative to communicate with consumers and win their support.
