Fresh-produce giant Greenyard has signed an agreement with Carrefour Belgium, to strengthen the commercial relationship between the two companies.
The companies aim to continue to drive profitable growth of the fresh-fruit and -vegetable category through this agreement.
Guaranteed Supply
As a part of the agreement, Carrefour Belgium will receive a guaranteed, year-round supply of fruit and vegetables that are quality assured.
It also outlines Greenyard’s strategy to become the vertically integrated partner and value-added service provider for Carrefour Belgium, supporting its ‘Act For Food’ initiative, to provide consumers healthy, high-quality Belgian food.
For Greenyard, the agreement will result in a significant increase in the volume of supply of fresh fruit and vegetables to Carrefour Belgium.
It is expected to contribute positively to the revenue of all parties in the supply chain.
Long-Term Goals
This collaboration will also help the companies in achieving their common, long-term goals of waste reduction and providing better-quality products in a speedy, regular and innovative fashion that caters to the changing needs of consumers.
