Interspar Austria And Kloster Gut Aich Launch Novelty Bread

In collaboration with Gut Aich Abbey, near St Gilgen- am-Wolfgangsee in Austria, local Interspar bakeries have launched the novelty Abbey Bread. The round rye bread is baked using Austrian flour and flavoured with locally grown herbs, such as hyssop and thyme. The bread weighs around 2 kilograms and can be bought either per loaf or per slice.

"With the Abbey Bread, produced in our own bakery and using herbs from the garden of Kloster Gut Aich, we offer our customers a unique local product, which isn't available anywhere else in Austria," said Markus Kaser, CEO of Interspar Austria. "Natural products have the full attention of our customers at the moment, and seem the right course to take."

Interspar Austria's collaboration with Kloster Gut Aich follows the recent opening of the Monastery Shop in Salzburg's Europark shopping centre. The shop sells products including natural cosmetics and herbal salts and tinctures, and the concept has been well received by the public.
