Mercadona's bread supplier, Anitín, increased its turnover by 9.2% in 2015 compared to the previous year, accruing more than €56 million, according to elEconomista.es.
The increment has been attributed to the €6 million investment the company made in that period, a 37% increase on the year previous. Its production levels have grown alongside its sales, estimated at around 27.2 million kilograms, 6.7% more than in 2014.
Javier Ortiz, Anitín's chief executive officer, said that company's commitment to innovation has been reflected in new products launched and in the facilities' restyling.
Today, 621 employees work for the company in its four production plants in Spain.
