Greek aquaculture company Philosofish SA has won 2-stars for three products - sea bass, sea bream and pagrus - in the Superior Taste Award 2020.
The award was presented by the Brussels-based International Taste Institute, a world leader in the evaluation and certification of consumer food and beverage products.
More than 1,500 products were submitted to this year’s competition, and underwent rigorous appraisals by independent panels comprising more than 200 chefs from the most prestigious European culinary associations.
The products were blind-tasted, following a systematic approach, and prepared and served according to a strict protocol, ensuring maximum objectivity.
The evaluation was based on first impression, presentation, flavour, taste, and texture using standards relevant for the category.
Commenting on the company's achievement, president of Philosofish, George Momferratos said, “This global award recognition is especially important to us as it is testament to the constant and continuous effort made by all Philosofish employees to produce high quality and premium fish, encouraging us all to continue on the same path.”
