Philosofish has received the Bronze award in the Greek Exports Forum & Awards 2020, under the 'Top Greek Export Company' category.
Philosofish is a leading company in aquaculture in Greece and produces sea bass, sea bream and other Mediterranean species.
The company implements the latest methods in terms of sustainability.
It deploys technologies that harness the competitive advantages of the Greek waters and unique coastline for high-quality fish production.
Founded in 1986, the company launched the Philosofish brand in 2014 with the arrival of new investors and shareholders.
In 2020, Philosofish, with the acquisition of additional production units, became the second-largest producer of sea bass and sea bream in Europe.
The sales plan of 2020 was very ambitious, and despite the unprecedented conditions created by the pandemic, Philosofish managed to introduce its products to 10 new international markets.
At the same time, it expanded its cooperation with international retail groups and developed value-added products such as whole cleaned fish and ready-to-cook fillets.
The company's mission is to develop and promote a rich, balanced, and healthy diet based on fish.
It aims to emerge as one of the most important companies in the sector globally, always contributing towards sustainable production.
The Greek Exports Forum & Awards 2020 was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, the Panhellenic Exporters Association, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), the Northern Greece Exporters Association (SEVE), and a multitude of sectoral and bilateral chambers, as well as professional associations and organisations.
