A brilliantly inventive shot of flying Pink Lady® apples by photographer Polina Plotinikova (Russia/UK) has won the prestigious Pink Lady® Apple a Day category at the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2016 contest, the world’s leading celebration of food photography.
Winning photographer Plotinikova was presented with the £1,000 prize by Michelle Toft, chief marketing officer at Pink Lady® UK.
The announcement took place in front of an audience of 400 guests at a glittering Champagne Taittinger reception packed with celebrities from the food and photography world, at the Mall Galleries, London, on Tuesday 26 April.
“This category, only introduced last year, seeks the most creative shot using a Pink Lady® apple, said Andy Macdonald, who heads up Pink Lady® in the UK, headline sponsor of the awards. “We are delighted to present the trophy and prize to Polina for this wonderful photograph. The mix of floating apples, colour and composition make it a stunning shot.”
The image will also be used by Pink Lady® in its UK marketing campaign over the coming year.
