Spanish agrifood business Procavi, part of Grupo Fuertes, reported a 16 per cent growth in sales in 2015, reaching €253 million.
Furthermore, last year the company continued to strengthen its international presence, as reflected in its export growth, which surpassed €37 million, a 27.5 per cent increase against the previous year.
Procavi's international sales are mainly targeted at Europe, and the company has commercial offices in Portugal, France and Italy. It is also commercialising its products in Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, and is studying plans to broaden its reach to the Persian Gulf region.
The number of people working in Procavi's facilities grew by 17.47 per cent in 2015. The company's activities generated over 7,000 indirect job positions.
Regarding investment plans, Procavi expects to dedicate €45 million in the next three years to increase productivity, efficiency and capacity and to reinforce its leadership position in the turkey meat market. These investments will include the development of a new turkey processing centre in Marchena, Sevilla.
Procavi is a leading business in the turkey meat industry, with a national Spanish market share of 52 per cent. It's also the fourth biggest in Europe, and the eleventh worldwide. Its production capacity can process up to 129,000 tonnes per year, which equates to 11.9 million turkeys processed per year.
