Two Red Noses Klinikclowns made a surprise appearance at the FruitLogistica trade fair on 6 February, to confirm the cooperation between the organisation and the pear brand Migo®.
The Red Noses received a donation of €10,000 from Jürgen Nüssle, the managing director of growers' organisation Württembergische Obstgenossen-schaft.
Consumers in Germany have helped to put a priceless smile on the faces of ailing children through the purchase of Migo® pears.
In November of last year, during the 'Migo® Happy Month', at the beginning of the pear season, the annual kick-off was given for the collaboration between Migo® and the Red Noses Clowns.
Under the slogan 'Let's smile together', Migo® sponsors the Red Noses Clowns organisations in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
About Migo® Pears
In Germany, Migo® pears are grown by growers of the Württembergische Obstgenossen-schaft and marketed via Obst vom Bodensee.
Esther Dworak of Obst vom Bodensee explained, "Every year, more and more German consumers discover the Migo® pear, with its crunchy bite. The pear convinces by its sweet taste, but the most important thing is that this pear can be eaten without getting messy.
"As a result, this pear can simply be eaten out of hand, just like an apple, for example. This makes Migo® particularly suitable for on-the-go consumption. We see a steady increase in demand, which is why many new trees are being planted in Germany, so that we can continue to meet the demand of German consumers in the coming years," added Dworak.
Red Noses Clowns
Red Noses Clowns give patients in children's hospitals, the elderly, seriously ill people of all age groups, and people with disabilities exactly what makes them feel good – real encounters and a smile.
This idea originated in the US in the 1980s and was soon adopted across Europe.
Various Red Noses Clowns' associations operate in Germany.
In 2004, the umbrella organisation – Dachverband Clowns in Medizin und Pflege Deutschland – was established to represent the interests of the various associations.
