Dutch dairy giant Royal FrieslandCampina NV has announced that it has taken over the activities of Best Cheese Holland, including its brands Parrano and Tjiezi.
The company wants to meet the increasing demand for cheese in cooking, as well as dippers, for snacks.
A Fine Addition
Parrano is famous for its Italian-style cheese flakes, grated cheese and powdered cheese, and it is one of the fastest-growing consumer brands in this segment.
"The acquisition of the brand Parrano and the dairy dippers fits in well with our ambition to provide dairy products for all consumption moments. These brands are a fine addition to our cheese activities," said Roel van Neerbos, president of FrieslandCampina consumer dairy.
Paul Wilde, director of Best Cheese Holland, said, "This acquisition allows for further international growth of the products of Parrano and Tjiezi."
FrieslandCampina and Best Cheese Holland have also reached an agreement in principle on the acquisition of the import and sales activities of Best Cheese in the USA. This acquisition will take place after agreed conditions have been met.
The acquired activities will be integrated into FrieslandCampina Consumer Dairy, with effect from 15 September 2018.
In February of this year, the Dutch dairy company announced that it had obtained full ownership of its Chinese subsidiary, Friesland Huishan Dairy.
