UK retailer Sainsbury’s has doubled the range of non-dairy milk products it offers, across around 300 of its stores, following growth in the category.
The retailer said that it experienced growth of 11.5% in the non-dairy milk category last year, and 28.8% growth over the past two years, and as such is adding 18 new plant-based milks to its aisles.
New Products
Among the new brands to be stocked are Califa Farms Almond Milks, a premium nut-based product, which is the third largest non-dairy milk brand in the US. This product will be exclusive to the UK retailer.
In addition, the retailer will also stock Plenish, a premium nut-based milk that is made with three basic ingredients, and contains no additives, preservatives or sweeteners.
“We’re delighted with the performance of our dairy alternative milk range over the last year,” said James Curtis, Sainsbury’s milk buyer.
“By adding these fantastic quality, great tasting branded lines like Califia Farms, we will be a real destination shop for customers looking to replace regular milk with non-dairy alternatives. In particular, we expect cold brew coffees made with nut milks and additional dairy products like Kefir to continue to build in popularity over the coming months and years.”
