Italian supermarket chain Simply has added a special section dedicated to organic fruit and vegetables to its store in Siena.
An island dedicated to organic bulk fruit has been set up together with Brio, a leading company in Italy and Europe for the production and distribution of organic fruit and vegetables, and with Alce Nero, an organic farming cooperative that produces high quality products, reports Il Giunco.
The offer is complemented by many long-lasting references of the Alce Nero range, including pasta, sauces, legumes and cereals, juices and nectars, vegetable drinks, fruit, biscuits, and baby food. Other fresh products such as soups, ready-made salads and dairy products will soon be included.
Further Rollout
After Siena, the project will also be rolled out in three other Simply supermarkets in Italy’s Tuscany region – in Colle Val d’Elsa, Montemurlo and Grosseto - from September.
In a related development, Alce Nero and Brio have teamed up with La Linea Verde – DimmidiSì to create Alce Nero Fresco, a new line of fresh vegetables-based ready meals. The first products will be officially presented in September, at the Sana Trade Show in Bologna.
