Portuguese tomato producer Sugal Group has posted turnover of more than €265 million in 2017, according to Jornal de Negocios.
With this result, the company has set a new record for tomato production, exceeding 1.7 million tonnes in the 2017 campaign.
Sugal says that it will continue this growth trend in 2018, and aims to produce over 1.8 million tonnes of tomato products.

Sugal Group produces tomatoes and a range of tomato products for the retail, wholesale and food service industries. It exports more than 90% of its production to 70 countries.
The Ribatejo-based company has operations in three countries – its home market of Portugal, as well as Spain and Chile.
In Portugal, the group owns two factories in Benavente and Azambuja, while in Spain it has a factory in Seville, and in Chile it owns two units in Tilcoco and Talca.
