Polish fruit and vegetable importer and distributor Targban has acquired the banana ripening facilities of Warsaw-based Del Monte Poland.
The banana-ripening facility allows the group to significantly expand its capabilities within its core product group, said Targban.
In a statement, the company said it will be reinforcing its market leading position as a supplier of fresh produce and solutions to the largest retail groups and local wholesale leaders in Eastern Europe.
Targban deals with producers across Europe as well as the US, South America, New Zealand and Africa. Its customers include Polish retailers and wholesalers.
At present, the company currently has 6,000 square metres of warehouse space with three wholesale distribution points in Warsaw.
