Waitrose Begins Selling Jersey Sweet Potatoes

Following the introduction of domestic sea kale into its fresh produce product portfolio, Waitrose has started selling sweet potatoes from Jersey, FreshPlaza.com reports.

The sweet potatoes are clearly labelled as being sourced from the Channel Island, which is famous for producing good-quality potatoes. Its neighbouring island, Guernsey, has historically been noted for its tomato output.

The sweet potatoes are available in a pre-packed format, as well as loose.

Waitrose’s supplier is the Jersey Royal Company, which also sells it jacket potatoes. The product description reads, "These red skinned orange fleshed sweet potatoes are specially selected for their smooth texture and sweet nutty flavour."
