Waitrose & Partners has launched a new range of frozen fish that is sustainably sourced and fully traceable.
The ready-to-cook, high-quality fish range is based around four SKUs, which are now available in more than 200 Waitrose outlets.
The frozen fish range includes fillets of British cod, hake, and halibut, as well as British monkfish chunks.
'Responsible Fishing'
Grocery and frozen buyer at Waitrose & Partners, Michael Simpson-Jones, said, “We are thrilled to be offering frozen British fish, caught by British vessels.
“Many of these vessels have also committed to the responsible fishing scheme, which sees the best possible fishing standards demonstrated within the industry which is something we care about greatly.”
Waitrose's cod and hake are fished from the North Sea, while halibut is sourced from the Norwegian fjords.
As well as expanding the retailer’s frozen food offering, this new range provides customers with a range of delicious, easy-to-cook fish that can be used for grilling, pan-fries, roasts, and curries, Waitrose said.
