Waitrose’s fresh produce sales have enjoyed a lift since Christmas, with the resolve of its clientele to eat healthily reflecting in sales figures, fruitnet.com reports.
The sales of berries in particular have gone up substantially: raspberry sales increased by 33 per cent, and blueberry sales by 22 per cent on a like-for-like basis during the week finishing January 2 2015
Sales of avocados were up by 40 per cent for this period.
The retailer also noted that radish sales rocketed by 145 per cent, and salad leaves increased by 25 per cent.
