UK retailer Waitrose has unveiled a limited-edition Christmas wreath made with Brussels sprouts.
The unusual wreath is made from sustainable foliage from Scottish fir trees, interwoven with the traditional Christmas vegetable.
Quirky Decoration
Waitrose says that the idea came about as a joint venture between the retailer's sprout-grower and the wreath-maker who creates festive floral arrangements for its supermarkets.
“We wanted to create something more quirky as part of this year’s festive horticulture offering,” said Samantha Brett, horticulture buyer at Waitrose. “This seemed like a great opportunity to do something fun and creative with sprouts.”
The wreath is a limited-edition decoration and has been available since the beginning of December in select Waitrose Food & Home branches for £35.
If popular, sprout enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that the wreath could be extended to more branches for Christmas 2018, the retailer revealed.
