Westfalia Fruit, a multinational group and leading supplier of avocados, has appointed Johnathan Sutton as its executive of safety and environment, effective 1 June.
In the newly-created role, Sutton will be responsible for driving the company's sustainability efforts to greater heights.
He will be in charge of implementing protocols and refining the system to ensure optimal levels of compliance in matters related to environmental impact, food safety, and the health and safety of employees.

Sutton is a leading food industry professional with a high-level of procurement, technical and commercial knowledge, gained through decades of experience in the retail sector.
He is an advocate and coach of continuous improvement and has a drive for lean efficiency across all pillars of the industry.

A Welcome Addition
At a time when the world’s attention is focused on personal safety and the preservation of health and environment, he is a welcome addition to the Westfalia Fruit family, the company said.
