Henkel, the maker of brands including Persil and Loctite, has announced that it closed its acquisition of Mexican haircare company Nattura Laboratorios.
The agreement to acquire Nattura Laboratorios and its associated companies in the US, Colombia, and Spain was signed on 8 March 2017.
Strengthening Position
Henkel says that this deal will strengthen its haircare business and significantly expand its market positions in Mexico and the US. In 2016, Nattura Laboratorios general sales of over €100 million, with brands such as Pravana and Tec Italy.
"This acquisition is part of our strategy to strengthen our position in attractive markets and categories and will reinforce Henkel’s global number 3 position in the hair professional business,” said Henkel CEO Hans Van Bylen.
Pascal Houdayer, Henkel's executive vice president for beauty care, added that Nattura Laboratorios would be a "perfect fit" for the company, and would provide "an excellent platform for further growth" in Latin America.
The financial details of the transaction were not released.
