The chief executive of Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Sven Seidel, has announced his departure from the discounter, after three years at the helm.
Lebensmittel Zeitung reported that Seidel's departure is 'with immediate effect', with the retailer saying that it was by "mutual consent".
Seidel, 41, took over from previous chief executive Karl-Heinz Holland in 2014, and under his tenure, streamlined the management board at the discounter and oversaw the group's first steps into the US market.
Jesper Hojer, 38, who formerly headed up the group's international purchasing operations has been installed as chief executive, Lebensmittel Zeitung reported. Hojer also previously held the position of executive chairman of Lidl Belgium.
