The Baltic Maxima Group has completed the acquisition of Polish retail chain Aldik Nova. Lithuania-based Maxima will take control of 21 supermarkets, a bakery, and a pastry-making unit.
With outlets in Poland’s Lubelski and Podkarpackie regions, Aldik Nova employs 700 people. “We have acquired the retail chain in line with implementation of our strategic policy of expansion to foreign countries. We will learn more about the Polish retail market by managing the chain,” said the Group's Director General Mindaugas Bagdonavicius. “Our major strategic directions for 2012 remain unchanged: the Group has been planning further moderate expansion abroad.”
No financial details of the deal were released to the public. (7 Mar)
