Mercator Returns To Bosnia & Herzegovina

Slovenian retailer Mercator has announced its return to Bosnia and Herzegovina with the opening of two shopping malls in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.

The refurbishment of the shopping malls and the network consisting of 83 stores is the result of a rebranding operation which will see former Konzum stores reopen as Mercator outlets, a move aims to improve the positioning of Agrokor, the ailing Croatian food and retail concern and parent of the Konzum brand.

New Assortment

According to a company press release, reported by local portal Biznis Info, the company has also been working on the assortment available in the stores, expanding the existing offer of 35,000 products with an additional 2,300 articles.

In addition, Mercator has dedicated special attention to local producers in the new-look stores and the intention is to strengthen its level cooperation with Bosnian-Herzegovinian suppliers.

In a new move, pensioners will be offered a 10% discount on all items every Thursday, while the Pika customer loyalty program, which already has over 400,000 users, offers additional benefits to all consumers.
