A corrugated packaging plant in Grünburg, Austria, operated by Mondi, has been awarded a Wellpappe Austria Award for a novel ice box development.
The cooling box is a paper-based packaging solution that can be used to transport temperature-sensitive or chilled foods and beverages.
It is a 100% recyclable solution that offers an “on-the-go chilling” concept, Mondi said in a statement.
“Our ice box not only underlines the potential of paper-based packaging in the cool chain, it also shows that the opportunities to develop innovative packaging are almost unlimited when using Mondi’s broad product portfolio," said Florian Döbl, Managing Director at Mondi Grünburg.
"Innovative packaging solutions inspired by our young talent is the future of our company.”
