Lithuania's Maxima Group has appointed a new chief executive, Robertas Čipkus, following the departure of former CEO Alvydas Šustikas.
Čipkus previously held the position of chief financial officer at the company. In addition, board member Petras Jašinskas has been named chairman of the retailer's board, and legal director Eugenijus Filonovas has been appointed to the board.
“We are very grateful to Alvydas Šustikas for his contribution and professionalism in the development of the group’s activities and the launched new stage of its transformation," a Maxima Group spokesperson said.
The move comes as parent company UAB Vilniaus Prekyba undertakes a change in how its various subsidiaries are managed; a process that began last December. Company boards have been formed or renewed at all of its companies, including Maxima Grupė, Maxima LT, Maxima Latvia, Maxima Eesti, Euroapotheca, Akropolis Group, Ermitažas and Franmax.
Maxima also announced a number of management changes in January.
