Luxembourg-based retailer Cactus has announced that it has replaced all single-use plastic bags for bakery items, across all points sale, with a new packaging comprising paper and plastic film.
The new packaging will cut down plastic usage in the packaging of bakery products by 70%, and the paper used will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
New Packaging Solution
The combination of paper and plastic in the new packaging solution will allow the products to remain fresh, and visible during billing.
The move is in line with the company’s commitment to look for eco-friendly alternatives that reduce the company’s environmental impact.
