Carrefour Spain has won the ‘Food Category’ of the 2017 WorldStar Packaging Awards for its food-delivery boxes.
The result follows the retailer’s success at Spain’s Liderpack Awards, where it was awarded for its packaging and point-of-purchase standards.
The WorldStar Packaging Awards featured entries from 35 countries, and 291 entries.
Judges regarded Carrefour Spain’s boxes as best-in-class because of their capacity to preserve and protect food, the ease with which they can be assembled, and the fact that they can feature branding.
The boxes' material is also highly recyclable, and the judges noted that customers can reuse the boxes to store produce at home.
