Coexpan, a manufacturer of rigid plastic foils and thermoformed packages for the food packaging industry, has announced the expansion of its Coexpan FSP production facility in Roye, France, with the unveiling of a new barrier extrusion line.
The new extended facility manufactures PS, PP and PLA sheets for wide range of medium and high barrier packaging solutions for ready-made products, baby food, fruit compotes, dairy desserts, coffee, tea and other items.
It also increases the output capacity of the plant by around 7,000 tonnes per year.
The project also included the extension of Coexpan FSP's production and storage facilities, doubling the surface area the plant, including a new 3,700 square metre production area, four new silos, a new 2,700 square metre warehouse and a new office area.

'These more modern, more efficient facilities are designed in line with lean manufacturing principles that guarantee optimised work flows and use of production resources by applying a system of continuous improvement, seeking to achieve maximum efficiency and operation excellence,' the company said in a statement.
