Free From Plastics Packaging 2019, Europe’s most focused exhibition on plastic-free and plastic alternatives in packaging, will be held on 28 and 29 May in Barcelona.
Aimed at attracting European food manufacturers, as well as retail and retail packaging designers, the show covers paper, carton, rice-based, bio-compostable, biodegradable, corn-based, reusable and recyclable packaging, as well as many more innovative plastic-free solutions.
The two-day exhibition and conference programme on plastic-free packaging dedicated to the European food industry will be held in parallel with the Free From Functional & Health Ingredients Expo 2019.
Featuring more than 300 companies from 34 countries, among them are renowned industry leaders such as ASPACK, Mintel, Eska, Granarolo, Ballyfabs International, Bio4Pack, Korea Pavilion, Pedon, Schnitzer, and many others.
'A Bespoke Event'
Event director Ronald Holman explained, "Leading packaging designers and retailers have asked us to create a bespoke event exclusively focused on plastic-free alternatives for the food and beverage industry. Public awareness of plastic waste is growing through consumer movements such as Clean Seas and Turn the Tide on Plastics."
"The mainstream media spotlight on the environmental impact of plastic means that it is increasingly imperative to address the key questions around sustainability in packaging development and production. By focusing exclusively on plastic alternatives and smart plastic-free packaging solutions, we provide international attendees with a comprehensive overview, which won’t be found within the broad spectrum of other events," he added.
Free From Plastics Packaging 2019 will feature a Matchmaking Programme organised by partner the European Enterprise Network, an EU initiative, which is expected to arrange 500 one-on-one sessions between exhibitors and buyers/specifiers from around the globe.
The free conference features a total of 60 presentations covering a wide range of market-related issues.
