German dairy cooperative Hochwald has teamed up with SIG for packaging solutions for its new dairy production facility in Mechernich, Germany.
SIG will supply 15 aseptic filling machines for the new plant, which will allow Hochwald to offer a variety of packaging options for its dairy products.
The dairy products will be available in five different carton formats in a wide range of capacities and closing mechanisms.
'Competitive And Future-Proof Manufacturing Facility'
COO of Hochwald, Thorsten Oberschmidt, said, “Our new state-of-the-art plant will enable us to build a competitive and future-proof manufacturing facility and our close cooperation with SIG will make a significant contribution to our major European greenfield UHT project, with products assured of the best flexible and innovative packaging solutions of their kind.
The new plant will be equipped to process more than 800 million litres of milk per annum.
It will produce UHT milk, cream, condensed milk and flavoured milk for the European market and will export these products to China, the Middle East, and Africa from 2022.
