Glass packaging body, the European Container Glass Federation (FEVE), has elected Michel Giannuzzi as its vice-president.
The election of Giannuzzi, chairman and CEO of glass packaging manufacturer Verallia Group, was announced during the FEVE annual general meeting held in Rotterdam on 15 June.
Giannuzzi, 53, was appointed to his position with the Verallia Group on 1 September, 2017. Previously, he served as CEO of flooring surface company Tarkett between 2007 and 2017. He has also held positions with Michelin Group and Valeo Group.
Giannuzzi commented on his new position, "I am eager to put my experience at the service of this industry which has an unrivaled cultural heritage in Europe and a strong future ahead. Glass continues to be the packaging material of reference for many products despite competition.”

New Flaconnage Board Chairman
Laurent Zuber was also appointed as the chairman of the Flaconnage Board. Zuber is chief commercial officer and managing director of SGD Pharma, a company which manufactures moulded and tubular glass vials for the pharmaceutical sector. He has been with the company since 2006. Previously, he held senior positions at Saint Gobain Emballage (now Verallia) and the OTIS elevator firm.
FEVE members provide glass packaging products for the food and beverage sectors, as well as the perfume, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. Its members produce more than 20 million tonnes of glass per year, operating 160 manufacturing plants across 23 European states.
