Packaging giant Mondi has upgraded its profit forecast for 2015, backed by a strong performance in its packaging divisions.
The group said that underlying profits for the year to 31 December will likely be higher than the previous year's results of €767 million. Earnings per share are also expected to rise by a quarter, it said in a statement.
In 2014, Mondi saw its operating profit rise by 10 per cent and earnings per share were up by 13 per cent, and it expects to perform strongly again in 2015, ahead of its full-year results, released next week.
Shares in the paper packaging company went up by 3 per cent upon the announcement.
The Mondi Group, an international packaging and paper group employing around 25,000 people across more than 30 countries, is a reliable supplier of high-quality sustainable paper bags and packaging for the retail and FMCG industries.
