Ardagh Group has announced that three of its beverage can manufacturing facilities in the US have acquired International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001:2015 certification.
Plants in Bishopville in South Carolina, Olive Branch in Mississippi, and Winston-Salem in North Carolina have acquired the certification.
ISO 14001:2015 is the most updated standard of its kind and focuses on environmental management systems and performance, the company said.
In February of this year, Ardagh's can manufacturing facilities in Fairfield in California, Fremont in Ohio, and Reno in Nevada acquired the certification.
According to the company, most of its North American beverage can facilities are now ISO certified.
'Continuous Improvement'
Claude Marbach, CEO of Ardagh Metal, North America, commented, "Continued ISO certification across our entire Ardagh North America metal manufacturing organisation is indicative of our commitment to assuring customers we remain on a path of continuous improvement across quality, sustainability, and product and service satisfaction."
The certification helps companies to develop a management system that aligns business strategies and environmental objectives.
It allows organisations to minimise their environmental impact, reduce carbon footprint, and meet and exceed compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Metal beverage cans are recycled at the highest rate compared to any other packaging option, Ardagh added.
