Nestlé has announced plans to launch reusable containers for Nesquik cocoa powder, Ricoré chicory and coffee drink and Chocapic Bio cereals in association with Carrefour and Loop.
The products will be packed in reusable stainless-steel containers, which can be returned via home collection or store drop-off.
The company will then clean, refill and reuse the containers.
The initiative is part of Nestlé's efforts to reduce packaging through alternative packaging delivery systems.
By the end of this year, the food giant will roll out these products online and 10 Carrefour stores in and around Paris.
Fresh And Safe
Experts from the company's institute of packaging sciences tested the new containers to ensure that they keep the product fresh and safe throughout the shelf-life, Nestlé added.
Currently, Nestlé offers a home delivery and deposit system for Vittel and S.Pellegrino natural mineral water in reusable glass bottles as part of its partnership with Carrefour and Loop in France.
The company has also launched cat litter in refillable containers in the US in association with Loop.
