UK food group Quorn, which manufactures a range of meat substitute products, has confirmed that it will change the packaging on its sausage rolls, following a complaint that attracted attention on Twitter.
Dan Douglas highlighted that a twelve-pack of Quorn Meat-Free Mini Sausage Rolls includes only three sausage rolls, but with an asterisk explaining that the packet contains '12 mini rolls when cut into 4's'.
In his tweet, Douglas described the packaging information as 'brazen'.
Company Response
In response to the complaint, which has been retweeted over 25,000 times, Quorn Foods UK tweeted that it intends to change the packaging in the new year.
@dandouglas Hi Dan. Here at Quorn, we like to think of ourselves as honest and humble, not brazen or confusing. As a result, we’re going to be changing our Quorn Sausage Rolls packaging in the New Year.

A spokesperson for the company told the BBC, "Having seen the comments from consumers over the weekend, we agree that the product descriptor has the potential to cause confusion."
"We therefore plan to change the descriptor when we next print the packaging in the New Year."
The meat-free sausage rolls are part of a new range that Quorn launched ahead of the Christmas season, which also includes vegetarian gammon roast.
