Packaging firm SIG has appointed Ann-Kristin Erkens to its group executive board as chief financial officer, effective 1 November 2023.
Most recently, Erkens served as the corporate senior vice president and financial director of Henkel's Adhesives Technologies business.
Samuel Sigrist, CEO of SIG, welcomed Erkens to the group and added, "She has in-depth financial, operational and strategic experience and has consistently demonstrated strong business acumen and leadership skills during her career.
"We are looking forward to working with her as we cement our position as the global leader in sustainable packaging for aseptic liquid food and beverages."
An Experienced Professional
Erkens brings significant experience in the industrial sector, having worked for 21 years at Henkel.
From 2019 to 2023, she also led global operations and supply chain for Henkel's Adhesive Technologies, as well as for the European region.
Before that, she served as financial commercial director for the packaging adhesives business for India, the Middle East, and Africa.
Within the broader Henkel Group, she previously served as corporate director of group strategy, SIG noted.
Erkens holds a degree in business management and industrial engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Wedel, Germany, and a Master of Science in operations management from the University of Buckingham, UK.
In May of this year, SIG reported a 44.5% increase in group revenue in the first quarter of its financial year, to €729 million, driven by acquisitions and price increases.
In its Europe division, revenue growth stood at 37.6% for the period, or 11.2% excluding acquisitions, with performance largely driven by price increases.
