Packaging firm Smurfit Kappa has announced that its SupplySmart service has recently reached 50,000 supply chains in over 30 countries.
The SupplySmart service aims to reduce risks and optimise efficiency in supply chains by reducing logistics costs, streamlining production, and lowering packaging costs ‘without compromising on performance’, according to the company.
Proven Solutions
In developing the service, Smurfit Kappa combined its large supply-chain database with a research lab certified by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA). The firm claims its optimisation solutions to be scientifically proven, representing minimal risk to the customer.
“Trial and error just simply isn’t enough in today’s business environment. Our customers need solutions that are state of the art and proven,” said Arco Berkenbosch, vice-president of innovation and development at Smurfit Kappa.
“We’ve spent the last decade gathering data and analysing supply chains from well-known retailers to more-challenging parcel deliveries. SupplySmart is already being used 150 times a day for leading companies around the world to increase efficiency within their supply chains.”
