Smurfit Kappa UK has won a Nestlé UK and Ireland 2016 Supplier Award in the category of outstanding service.
It was presented with the award at an event that took place in the Queens Hotel in Leeds, with more than 300 suppliers and Nestlé personnel in attendance.
Over the course of last year, Smurfit Kappa worked in partnership with the FMCG giant on a number of initiatives to support its Virtuous Circle programme, which focuses on working together to add value and drive profitable growth.
Nestlé describes the Outstanding Service Award as a way to "celebrate those suppliers who have either delivered a consistently high level of service or who have shown proactivity to overcome significant obstacles".
David Hix, supply-chain director of Nestlé UK and Ireland, commented, "The number of entries we received was over 110 across all the categories, and the quality of all submissions was outstanding.
"The nominations demonstrate suppliers' outstanding commitment to the ever-important collaborative relationship that our companies benefit from."
Smurfit Kappa supplies Nestlé from various sites in the UK. Gayle Waywell, the Smurfit Kappa national account manager who manages the Nestlé account, collected the award on behalf of the Smurfit Kappa team.
Two of Smurfit Kappa UK’s employees, Jessica Steadman and Theresa Long, also received the Above and Beyond Award.
Clive Bowers, CEO of Smurfit Kappa UK, said, "We are delighted to have won this prestigious award, and this kind of recognition demonstrates how Smurfit Kappa continues to improve, develop and provide ongoing commitment to add value and excellent service to our customers."
