Smurfit Kappa has won seven awards for packaging innovations for the likes of Mars, PepsiCo and Unilever at the annual WorldStar Awards, held by the World Packaging Organisation.
The awards were won by Smurfit Kappa's teams in Austria, Germany, Sweden and the UK, and 'demonstrate the success of the company’s collaborative approach to delivering innovative packaging solutions that offer customers real value and business success in their markets', the company said in a statement.
"It's an outstanding achievement for seven of our designs to receive WorldStar Awards from the World Packaging Organisation," said Roberto Villaquiran, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Europe.
"The European teams are delighted to have been recognised on a global scale, and particular congratulations must go to the UK team for winning four awards.”
Solutions praised included a FSDU display for Doritos, themed around the FIFA World Cup, and a POS design for Mars' Galaxy brand.
